A short dive video shot on the GoPro Hero 8. Footage is featuring all the lovely divers at Freedive Ohana! ❤️ If you know me at all, you know that I LOVE the water. When I'm not filming, I'm surfing, and when I'm not surfing I'm diving. And in all honesty, I'm usually still filming while I'm in the water! Unlike scuba diving, where you have a tank full of oxygen to breath, free diving is all about your breath hold. I personally prefer free diving over scuba because I feel like it is the more natural way. It's an ability that God already gave us, and it's what people have done for centuries. When I'm in the water, there is a sense of peace that I feel. As I am breathing up in preparation for my dive, I feel connected to to the life that surrounds me. I can just dwell in God's presence. These past couple of weeks, I really had to take time to sit and ask God what He wanted to do with my life. I knew I loved being in the water (especially surfing), and I knew that I loved art and filmmaking. I felt stuck though. All these plans, goals, and dreams. How could I pursue all three things at once? I was ready to simply let go of my passion for the ocean and surfing and focus solely on filmmaking. It simply seemed impossible in my eyes to do it all. What I had forgotten was that God already knew what my passions were; in fact, He was the One who put them in me! He showed me how it all connects, and it is...beautiful. I am excited to begin walking in it all. I still have my moments though. It feels so much simpler to choose one passion and stick with it, but in doing so I'd be missing the bigger picture. The best analogy I can give about what he's doing is this: It's easier to paint with one simple color and you can still make really good art with one color, but how much more dynamic and vivid is that painting once you add color! That's where I'm at right now. I'm still learning how to use all the paints on my pallet, but I have an amazing Teacher Who knows exactly what the outcome will be. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 I hope you guys enjoy this video.
